Choose That Good Part

πŸ“–"But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”  Luke 10:41 (NKJV)
What is the good part?
We want to choose that, obviously!

πŸ“– Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”   Luke 10:38-41 (NKJV)

Sit and listen!? That is it!
Hmmm Are you sure? Maybe it means something similar like; once I get my job done, my list finished, I can give Him a bit of my time

πŸ“– And He said to them, Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. Mark 6:31(NKJV)
He said to get away and rest when things are overwhelming.

πŸ“– Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked
schemes to pass. Psalm 37:7

Waiting implies, or should imply, resting our bodies, minds and spirit.
πŸ“– But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

Rest ....taking time to focus and be holy (set apart, consecrated for God).
For the New Year, no resolutions or promises...just JESUS.
Choose every day That Good Part...to spend quality time with your Savior.

πŸ“– Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
Because our true rest comes from Him, when giving over all our burdens to Him.

πŸ™πŸΌLord, remove or still all things that distract me from You. Help me to take the time to be Holy, to sit at Your feet and be with You.❤️
