Ear Plugs

 

If you notice the ears...the inspiration for this blog. 

Ear plugs, sound protection, the kind you squish up and place in your ear, are necessary to keep out damaging levels of noise.

However...as we have them in, it becomes harder to hear crucial or critical information.

Please, stay with me...and understand I am not talking about ear protection. I am speaking in figurative terms. ALWAYS protect your hearing!

I believe Satan helps insert "ear plugs". They are made up of hurt, anger, jealousy, stubbornness, pride....and once in they just continue to inflate as we add more to the list, as we hang on to those things. 

But if we allow God to take them from us,

📖  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Ephesians 4:31

And we are repentant, we seek restoration 

God will remove those plugs.

 

Instead He covers us..our whole being

📖 He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.  Psalm 91:4 (NKJV)

📖 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Exodus 33:22 (NKJV)

With HIS cover the dangerous sounds are muted. 

But our ears are still open to hear Him. 

We need to remain under His protective hand so that we can hear His voice over any other. 

📖  So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

📖 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:19-20

Another analogy; there are a form of ear protection that have radio and Bluetooth connection. They may protect us from the harmful noises around us, but we must make sure what we listen to isn't drawing us away from His voice.

📖 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” John 10:2-5

 

📖  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
